Stage 02 · Finding shape

The shape arrives when you stop decorating and start deciding.

A small company is the most thrilling and most dangerous moment of a business. Things work, but nobody is sure why. Channels stack up. Sales and marketing speak different languages. We help you turn the noise into a system.

  • Brand is the memory a customer carries home.
  • Channels are a portfolio, not a list.
  • Marketing without sales is art.
  • Sales without marketing is friction.

Brand

Brand stops being a logo. It becomes a worldview.

When a company is new, brand is whatever the founder believes in loudly enough. When a company is small, the team grows past the founder’s voice, and the brand quietly turns into the average of everyone’s instinct. That average is almost always beige.

The work here is compression. What does the company refuse to do? What word will customers borrow when they describe you to a friend? Brand at this stage is an editing exercise. You are removing everything that is not it.

The companies that break out at this size make a series of small, costly decisions against something. A segment, a feature, a channel, a tone everyone else uses. Each “no” sharpens the silhouette.

Our role is to be the outsider with permission to ask the editing questions, and to install the discipline so the team keeps asking them after we leave.

Mindset

The shift in how you think. Once a quarter, on purpose.

  1. From tactics to cohorts.

You stop asking “did the campaign work?” and start asking “is the May cohort better than the April cohort?” Tactics are felt. Cohorts are read. Cohorts compound.

  2. From traffic to intent.

1,000 visitors no one needed cost the same as 1,000 who came looking for you. Brand-led intent is the cheapest, slowest, most defensible asset a small company can build.

  3. From more channels to better attribution.

Most small companies run 4 channels and read none of them. The first 90 days of our work is usually instrumentation.

  4. From marketing versus sales to one motion.

One memory, one definition of a qualified lead, one dashboard, one weekly meeting where both sides finally see the same numbers.

  5. From founder-led to system-led.

A company that runs without you in every meeting. Process, playbooks, dashboards, ownership. Boring on the way in. Liberating on the way out.

Acquisition

Extending acquisition without diluting focus.

  1. 01

    Owned content, weekly.

One piece of authored thinking a week, in the rooms your customers already live in. A slow asset that compounds for years.

  2. 02

    Outbound, surgical.

50 perfect prospects, researched, with a first sentence that proves you read their site.

  3. 03

    Paid, narrow.

Branded intent first. Retargeting second. Cold paid only when the maths is proven and the creative is mature.

  4. 04

    Partnerships, chosen.

2 non-competing companies that share your customer. A joint asset, a referral. Cheap, fast, undervalued.

  5. 05

    Community, earned.

Show up where your customers already gather. Earn the right to be useful in the rooms that exist.

  6. 06

    Reputation, systemic.

Reviews, case studies, testimonials, requested at the right moment in the journey. The most under-used channel in the world.

What we do, exactly

Consultancy and system integration. Hands on the keyboard.

Consultancy means a senior partner in your weekly leadership meeting. Reading the dashboards with you. Pushing back on the loud thing in favour of the right thing. Drafting the brand brief, the channel plan, the quarterly objectives.

System integration means we wire what you decided to do. The instruments configured properly. The events that actually fire. The tools that share one customer record. The dashboard leadership opens every Monday because it tells the truth.

Most consultancies stop at the strategy. We stop at the working system.

A small company does not grow by doing more. It grows by deciding faster, with cleaner data, on fewer fronts.
